Fish Hands
Like many common folk, I believe that fish, unlike humans, do not have hands.
It seems that for all 32 years of my life I have been wrong.
A recent trip to our local grocer lead to the fascinating discovery that fish not only have HANDS, but that they also have FINGERS!
Or should I say HAD...
They are quite the delicacy here, (why else would they come in the Snazzy Black & Gold packaging?).
So, there you go. Fish are born with fingers, but the Australians cut them all off and bread them and freeze them, before turning the fish back out into the wild to go on about their fishy little lives. Through genetic mutation, most modern day wild fish are no longer born with their fingers.
Food for thought.

I see the Fish Fingers are $5! That's a lot, but I suppose there's a lot of, well, hand work involved. Do you Aussies say "five bucks" or do you have another expression for the price of fish sticks?
Good question! I think I see another jar of vegemite in your future...!
