Rockstar Cowgirl

My sister is a rockstar cowgirl.

Someday she'll have a farm and I'll run a letterpress print shop out of the barn. It'll be a bed & breakfast letterpress horse ranch. We'll wrangle tenderfoots and teach' em how to lasso type and herd improper grammar, all from the back of a horse.

She'll give me cowgirl lessons and yell at me to get my damn heels down, and I'll give her printing lessons and yell at her back off on the damn ink.

At night we'll sit around a camp fire and talk about the days when folks still foolishly put 2 spaces after their punctuation at the end of a sentence when typing. Maybe we'll toss around the idea of shoeing the horses with metal type, so that they print when they walk. Then we'll roll out our sacks and dream of fancy typefaces with cool ligatures and horses that do perfect sliding stops and spin on a dime of ink.

But until that "someday" when she gets that farm, I'll keep on working on making graphic design a traveling outdoor sporting event and she'll keep on slingin' bonds to sweet-talkin' investors and kickin' equine butt at weekend riding competitions.

That's because my sister is a rockstar cowgirl.
